All to often we hear about the neglected, the abused & the mistreated animals & their owners.. Which is unforgivable & unnecessary in any rightminded persons world..
But if we turn that around, let's give a shout out to all you wonderful pet parents who look after your pets properly. To those of you who think nothing of going that extra mile to make sure your pets are properly cared for. Those who couldn't live with themselves if they didn't do right by their pets. Those who like nothing better than knowing their pets get the best they can afford, it might not be always easy financially but you make the sacrifice for your pet, because to you they are an important family member & that's what you do for family. You look out for them & look after them no matter what....
All to often we only speak about the neglected & abused animals. Naturally that has to be highlighted. But every once in a while , we need to highlight the good, the cared for, & the loved animals & their owners.
To remind ourselves, although rescues are full & struggling, we are thankful for the wonderful owners. Because without all of you, & the understanding & support you give us on a regular basis, we would struggle far more & possibly not survive..
For that we thank you one & all, for doing right by your pets & supporting us in animal rescue..
You are very much valued & appreciated... Thank You for reading...

Lately there seems to be alot of video's online of toddlers, either climbing on dogs, pulling at them, sticking fingers in the dogs ears. I've seen some where tots are pulling at the dogs face & one where a child was trying to actually bite a dog. All of these were recorded & put up on social media. By someone who thought it funny cute or whatever!!!
As adults we know the difference between right ,& wrong. We know what's dangerous & what's not. We also know that if the dogs involved even growl at those kids. The dog is branded as aggressive & off to the nearest shelter or rescue with it & it's new stigma label..
Should that dog bite that child, well it's over for the dog. It'll be put to sleep as a dangerous dog, or it's out of control..
If whoever was making these video's actually engaged their brains for two seconds they would have realised the danger of the situations. It's the person doing the recording that should be prosecuted for allowing such a situation to continue, the person recording should be given jail time..The argument can be made if the child didn't know what it was doing, it can be excused from any punishment, by the same token the dog is only reacting & didn't understand the dangers of it's actions either, so shouldn't it be excused as well. Realistically then there's only one who understood the situation, it's the person recording it. Then shouldn't they take full responsibthey for the actions of all 3 & that of the dog & the baby!!! It's time to stop blaming dogs for humans mistakes carelessness or couldn't care less attirude..Thanks for reading..

I couldn’t agree with you more. I had the pleasure of adopting my dog who got fed up with the 6 kids in his family constantly annoying him and eventually he bit back. I’ve no problem with him. I’m have him 4 years now and I’m aware of his triggers, so I don’t put him in a situation where he becomes anxious we are both blessed to have found one another

Yes and if you comment on it you're just a party pooper. The number of people who think it's cute is crazy.

From the comments on those types of horrible videos a heck of a lot of ppl find nothing wrong with it and even when facts are pointed out they don't wanna know. Its wilful ignorance. More interested in getting a laugh or getting views/likes. Bloody sad in this day and age

I agree 100% they are dogs not toys. It makes me so irate. My blood boils when I see people posting videos with disrespect/abuse towards animals. I will always post a comment with my opinion and I also report it as animal abuse.

So true - there are a lot of very silly, irresponsible idiots out there who should know better - dogs need to be respected not taunted or abused. Why anyone would put children and dogs in a situation where both could be at risk of harm because of the actions of so called adults who appear to find the reactions they get as funny or entertaining. Wise up - what you are doing is totally unacceptable at any level for both children and dogs.

Totally agree with you.

Couldn't agree more

Well said👍

If this doesn't warm the cockles of your heart nothing will.. This is Chance, who has to be the most tolerant dog in the country. He's so calm & so good with all the other animals in the house & let's not forget the endless stream of fostered kittens he's helped raise.
I think he deserves some extra special treats for his dedication, dont you??.❤️

In this warm weather please make sure to walk your pets when it's a bit cooler in the evening. Also make sure you leave fresh water out of the sunlight for all animals daily. Make sure they have somewhere to lie in the shade as well. Thanks for reading.... ... See MoreSee Less

This is heartbreaking.....💔
The wee dogs Fiona Squibb & vet tried to help & save didn't make it. Everything possible was done but sadly nothing worked .. Nobody should have to go through this type of trauma especially the poor dogs.. For them the suffering was more than their little bodies could fight.. How & why this happened is anyone's guess. All we can say for sure is broken hearts & tear stained eyes are left behind..

Folks, can you all please be very aware of the garden products you are using. As you know some are highly toxic to animals . Only a few days ago our inspector Fiona Squibb had to assist & take a dog to a vet. The poor dog was suffering from poisoning & was having fits. Please read the packaging before purchasing, if you've already have it in your shed please reread the instructions & dangers.. Any animal can suffer poisoning. It is a horrible thing to witness.
Caution is essential when dealing with garden products. Remember it's not just our pets that can suffer from poisoning it also kills wildlife as well..Thanks for reading...
